hi, we just got a new router/modem
the modem model is a netgear wgt624, which i have read is riddled with problems
i am having a problem aswell
the itnernet randomly drops for like 10-30 secs
this is extremely inconvenient when trying to play games and downloading large files
im not sure if im correct by saying this, but it seems to happen more regularly when i join servers, could this be due to a firewall? my comp's firewall is off and so is my routers SPI firewall
im all out of ideas
is there anything i can do to stop this? im considering changing routers.....

There could be a problem with your ISP, why don't you try calling them up and explain to them what's happening.
And if the brand of modem you're using is wireless, people could be stealing your internet, which would explain your problem. Try putting a password on your wireless router if you think this is your problem.
