Orb effects DO NOT STACK.

This means any abilities or items that grant an orb effect (written in big red letters) will not work together. Usually one effect overrides the other, but sometimes neither will work. Read this guide for further details on orb stacking.

Note that attack skills that have autocast (Fire Arrows, Frost Arrows, Glavies of Wisdom) behave like orb effects when turned on and not like a spell. This means that they will override existing item based orb effects and and will not trigger effects caused by casting a spell (such as KotL's Mana Leak or Silencer's Last Word).

Magic immunity vs Ultimates & other skills

As a general rule, avatar/magic immunity only protects from magic damage.

Some ULTIMATE abilities and a few normal ones are supposed to go through Avatar/spell immunities. Sometimes only side effects apply and other times the full effects (damage and side effects) apply.

Examples of spells that pierce but deal no damage/have no side effect:
Lion - Finger of Death
Lina - Laguna Blade

Examples of spells that pierce, deal no damage but apply their side effects:
Terroblade - Sunder
Enigma - Black Hole
Lich - Chain Forst
Bane - Fiend's Grip
Pudge - Dismember
Necrolyte - Reaper's Scythe
Medusa - Purge
Treant Protector - Overgrowth

Note: these lists are not exhaustive.

Loss of control issues

-Due to a Warcraft bug, with Knight Davion (Dragon Knight), N'aix (Lifestealer), Terorblade (Soul Keeper), and Banehallow (Lycanthrope), you can lose control of the hero (i.e. cannot command, or commands don't do the right thing). If this happens, sit in the fountain area and type -recreate. After a 120-second channel (to avoid abuse), the hero should be back to normal. During this time cannot issue any commands to your hero.

-Due to another Warcraft engine bug leshrac (Tormented Soul) can permanently loose mana even with his ultimate turned off. Like with the loss of control issues, sit in the fountain area and type -recreate. After a 120-second channel (to avoid abuse), the hero should be back to normal. During this time you cannot issue any commands to your hero.

-If due to some spell (mirror-image, omnislash, toss, etc), you become trapped somewhere where you cannot get out, type -unstuck. After a 50-second channel (to avoid abuse), you will be teleported back to your fountain.

-Due to a glitch, most commonly (but not always) involving a hero getting smokescreened, the hero can get frozen (cannot move, cannot cast spells, doesn't even auto-attack enemies in-range). We don't know the cause, but once you die and respawn, everything should be back to normal. If this happens to you, kindly post a replay so we might get a better idea of what's going on.

Display issues - not bugs at all

Battlefury triggers an alternate attack animation:
-Battle Fury on Yunero (Juggernaut) does NOT activate his critical strike every hit. it only activates the animation for critical strike.
-Battle Fury on Leviathan (Tidehunter) does NOT activate his Anchor Smash every hit. it only activates the animation for anchor smash.
-Battle Fury on Raigor Stonehoof (Earthshaker), Lucifer (Doom Bringer), and other heroes activates alternate attack animations as well.

Criticals DO NOT STACK.
-If you have 2 different criticals, say critical strike as a natural ability and a Buriza, if both go off at the same time then it will show two numbers, but only one of those damages is actually dealt. If one of the criticals is a natural hero ability, it overrides, otherwise, the lowest damage is dealt.

-Each point of Str gives 19 HP, and each point of Int gives 13 MP. This is different than regular ladder WCIII, we know.

-Syllabear (Lone Druid), Morphling, and Nevermore (Shadow Fiend) attribute bonuses get added to their base attributes (ie it is added to the white numbers, and there is no green + bonus).

-Fuzzy Wuzzy (Ursa Warrior) and Banehallow (Lycanthrope) in wolf form are ranged heroes with melee range. This means they get ranged hero buffs (ie Trueshot aura) but no melee hero buffs (ie battle fury, vampiric aura).

-Lucifer (Doom Bringer) and Morphling in strength form are melee heroes with unusually long range (for melee heroes). They get all melee hero buffs and no ranged hero buffs.

-Strygwyr's (Blood Seeker) 3rd skill, "Strygwyr Thirst" will grant vision of invisible heroes but will NOT show their model. You will NOT be able to target them manually but nearby units WILL auto-aquire and attack them. This is a feature and NOT a bug.

Using Avatar on the following heroes has strange side effects, mostly dealing with appearance:
-Rooftrellen (Treant Protector) - becomes extremely large and appear rooted to the ground. due to ROOT being hardcoded into his model.
-Magina (Anti-Mage) - transforms into demon form due to Metamorph being hardcoded into his model.
-Terrorblade (Soul Keeper) - same as Magina
-Boush (Goblin Tinker) - transforms into a tank due to Robogoblin being hardcoded to his model
-Syllabear (Lone Druid) - transforms into bear form or vice versa due to True Form being hardcoded to his model.
-Crixalix (Sandking) - causes him to appears as burrowed when not attacking.
-Slardar (Slithereen Guard) - causes him to appear as if underwater when not attacking. Probably the same with naga siren.

Features mistaken for bugs

-Mortred (Phantom Assassin) sometimes becomes visible even though she has the blur ability researched. To fix this, type "-refresh".

-Atropos (Bane Elemental), Visage (Necro'lic), Knight Davion (Dragon Knight) in Dragon Form, and Viper (Netherdrake) will not set off proximity mines because they have a different move type (they are not touching the ground).

-Syllabear's Spirit Bear is an Ancient. Ancients are unaffected by a number of spells that affect other units, including Enigma's Black Hole. Before posting that any spell is broken because it doesn't affect Spirit Bear, please first check that it is not simply because of this.

-Spirit Breaker's Charge of Darkness is based on Faerie Fire. Even if you are invisible, the enemy can still see you if you have been charged! The same is true of Slardar's Amplify Damage and Bounty Hunter's Track.

-Some spells that teleport you to an enemy unit (Such as nether strike, omnislash, and blink strike) follow that unit through blinks and teleports.

-Linken's Sphere's spell negation is a stock Warcraft ability, that blocks targetted stock Warcraft abilities. However, when a hero casts an ability, it triggers the hero-cast-spell event, even though the spell is negated. As a result, on many triggered abilities targetting a hero, the Linken's Sphere blocks the spell (showing the blocked-spell animation and triggering the Linken's Sphere's cooldown), but the spell proceeds as normal.

-If Terrorblade uses Manta Style while metamorphed, he returns to his base form.

Warcraft engine issues

-Lightning-orb-based spells (such as Geminate attack and Maelstrom) do not trigger unless you specifically order your hero to attack a particular target. If your hero auto-acquires a target, the spell may not trigger unless you specifically (re-)command your hero to attack that target.

-Sometimes a hero will "ignore" commands and attack the creeps when you are telling him to run. This is due to the AI of units if you are clicking very close to your hero: he will go to the move point, and AI will kick in which says "attack enemies" before your next move command comes in due to lag.

-Sometimes when you are hexed and silenced, you lose the ability to cast spells for the rest of the game.

-For certain abilities that trigger on attack, they trigger when the attack starts. If you command your hero to stop, the ability still triggers. Unfortunately, Warcraft has no way to detect one unit stirking a unit, you can only trigger on a unit beginning an attack. This can be abused.

-When Cyclone and Impale throw a unit into the air, it makes the unit invulnerable. This can remove certain buffs/debuffs.

-Cyclone interacts strangely with some abilities, resulting in the unit being able to move while in cyclone. This includes: if a unit under Berserker's call is cycloned, if a unit is cycloned then Black Hole is cast underneath and if a unit undergoes a transformation just as it is cycloned.

-Naga Siren's Net and abilities based off Entangle (including Frostbite) restrict movement and blinking. "Unusual" forms of teleportation, such as Blink Strike, Timewalk and Swap might interact strangely with these abilities.

-Hero shackles (and Fiend's Grip, and Dismember) interact strangely with some abilities, resulting in the unit being able to move and attack while in the "net" This includes: if a unit under Berserker's call is netted, and if a unit undergoes a transformation just as it is netted. This also includes Avatar, even though Fiend's Grip or Dismember disables magic-immune units.

-Metamorph may interact strangely with other spells (such as stuns, Chronosphere, windwalk or shackles) if the metamorph ends while in such a state

-When you play map that uses lots of custom skins and objects, such as TOB and then you play DotA without restarting WC3, doodads (i.e. trees, rocks) become purple/black checkered boxes. Restart WC3 to fix this.

-Decrepify (ie Banish) makes units take extra damage from spells. However, for ladder/campaign balance reasons, some spells do not damage banished units. These spells include Fan of Knives. This means that spells based on Fan of Knives (Queen of Pain's Screen of Pain, Necrolyte's Death Pulse, and Tinker's Heat-Seeking Missile) do not damage Decrepified units.

-Units stunned by impale or impale based spells are immune to further impales until the first stun wears off. Impale based spells include fissure, burrowstrike, and ravage.
