DotA Allstars 6.56 AI+ 1.52 Revision 02

CHANGE LOG

Unofficial fixes
  • Added a fix for Meepo respawning with Aegis.
  • Added Windrunner to INT hero array (addresses a bug with -sd, -ai, -as, -aa, and Inner Vitality).
  • Cleaned up the way the bufftip levels for Blur.
  • Fixed Torrent debuff icon.
  • Fixed some typos (Eye of Skadi Ranged, Recall, Burst, Courier Shield, Captain CoCo's Rum).
Revision 1
  • First update to 6.56.
  • AI Keeper of the Light properly learns and uses reworked abilities (but not new Spirit Form abilities).
  • AI Enchantress properly learns and uses reworked abilities.
  • Updated item costs for AI purchasing routine.
  • Modified -pe routine to account for new Circle of Power locations.
  • Death Match and Mirror Match now work properly.
  • Fixed Purge (Old Medusa/Old Chen) to properly remove God's Strength and Insatiable Hunger.
  • Rewrote Tidebringer to prevent crashes with AI Posted the Hero suggestion.
Revision 2
  • Fixed a bug with AI changing Power Treads repeatedly.
  • Fixed a bug with Haunt (Avatar of Vengeance).
  • Fixed a bug with picking heroes after initial choosing period (-repick, -dm).
  • Fixed a bug with -sp.
  • Added temporary item builds for Kunkka and Windrunner.
  • Moved Draft Taverns in -rd to be accessible by players.

INTRODUCTION

This is a port of RGB's AI+ 1.52 (originally written for DotA Allstars 6.48b).

It behaves the same as the original AI, and has only been updated to account for balance changes, new item recipes, and most new features. As such, some new content does not work fully with the AI yet.

Warning: There is no AI for Lifestealer, Invoker, Clockwerk Goblin, Admiral Proudmoore nor Windrunner. They will get items but will neither use nor learn their skills.

FUN TAVERN

Additionally, I have added two Fun Taverns in the lower right corner.

Currently includes fifteen legacy heroes (possibly more in the future):To access the fun taverns, type -fun within the first 15 seconds of the game. Note that Fun Tavern heroes do not have AI scripts and will not buy items or use/learn skills.

Great job, thank you for your hard work!

I noticed these peculiar things when playing around with mode -sp:
If you were originally on side A (sentinel or scourge), you will not be able to pick a hero from side B's taverns, even though vision is granted. Adding -ap seems to fix this but only in the case that you do not switch sides in the shuffle.

erm i found 2 problems...firstly, when ppl random and dey try to repick, dey r unable to choose a new hero at either the sentinel tavern or the scourge tavern, secondly, sometimes while playing, wc3 would hang n nt respond...hope u fix those soon...

Yes. Confirm about that. I tried a few game and found that the problem caused by -repick command (-ap mode is on)
When I use the -repick command, I'm not able to pick the new hero from my side's taverns (that mean If I'm the player number 1,2,3,4,5, I'll not able to repick Sentinel Heroes. If I'm the player number 6,7,8,9,10, I'll not able to repick Scourge heroes)

I guess that you missed that post: http://forums.dota-allstars.com/index.php?s=&showtopic=235951&view=findpost&p=3284558. When you're going to report a bug, please say It clearly so that BMP can fix/address this easily.

And you should learn how to speak and write in English as well. smile.gif

Hmm, those 2 seem quite connected to each other and yes, confirmed by me as well. biggrin.gif Although those are quite minor issues, accept my apologies for not thinking to test that kind of stuff during the beta.

Shit. I can totally relate to what you are talking about. This was a major issue during the beta period and BMP worked hard to fix it. For those that don't understand what this guy is talking about, it's about frame rate randomly dropping during the game, until the game freezes and warcraft stops responding.

I'm not experiencing this anymore, but I was worried that others (especially with low-spec PCs) could still be affected by this. I guess my worries were rightful. =/

So, to everyone in this thread, keep an eye out for frame rate drops and freezes and report how frequent they are; the least we can do is to determine how serious the problem is.

Found a little bug:
When Slithice was in Torrent and falling down from sky, then Rooftrellen spelled his ultimate Overgrowth, Slithice's fall speed suddenly became extremely slow. She even took about 4 seconds to get down.

Ah, that's a known effect of any unit moving in the Z-axis being affected by an Entangling Roots skill. This also happens in normal DotA with Toss/Torrent/Impale/Burrowstrike/Ravage coupled with Frostbite/Overgrowth/Entangle.

It has just happened to me...
I was playing with proodmoore 5V5 insane AI's, -nestmcfr...
everything was working fine... but around the 24'... game freeze... i made an alt+tab then the game speed return to normal... then about 2 minutes after... freeze.... normal.... freeze and finally the game crashed ...

don't remember well all heroes... i was attacking an ancient hydra near a tower...
antimage, tiny, proodmore, bounty hunter and another one i don't remember against nerubian assassin, medusa, lycanthrope, phantom assassin and undying...

I'm affraid i can't be more precise...
I have a 3500 + amd monocore and nvidia 7800 Gs

First of all thanks A LOT BMP!!

Got a fatal after around 1 hour of play, lineup was
KoTL, Windrunner, Kunkka, Troll vs Lina, Omni, Bane, Dark Seer, Enchantress. If replay is required I'll upload it.

Experienced FPS drop as well.

Farmed my necro book in 15 mins, KoTL rocks.

EDIT: Oh, just realised what other meant by freezes and FPS drop, I guess I'm out of the freezing group but I do realise there is a FPS drop.

My apology if I relay the wrong thing, hope that I can contribute based on my observations.

As of now, I'm playing -aremne, after all heroes were picked (I got puck), I noticed a certain "lag jerk" every coming second which is constant as of now. I hope I can put into details...

Example, from 37th sec, approaching 38th (not yet 38th), the screen will hang for about 0.1 to 0.2 sec, which follows the time count (38th second). It's that short yet noticable, cause it happened every second.

As of 2 min+ into the game, I realised that the frame rate dropped... I've no idea whether it has anything to do with the previous behaviour or not...

I'm sure my words are insignificant comparing to the majority people here but I'd like to gratz Overflow for his hard work on the AI, I've all your versions in my PC always \ happy.gif /

fps do crazyly drop after half an hour.

1 game, 1 fatal error

5 vs 5 -deap
Sent : Drow(me), Necrolyte, Lock, Enchantress, and Naga
Scourge: Abbadon, Axe, Veno, TA and SF.

The weirdest thing before my fatal was I was looking at Enchantress doing dance back and forth before crashing. As in turn around, walk 1 step turn back, walk 1 step and repeat.

bugs i found

in -dm mode the -st command dont work with ne,ng,nn game commands. i'v tried: ap and ar with all possible senarious.

as soon as st together with -ne, -ng or -nn the game mode doesn't work
-apdmstnengnn

futhermore -dm mode still gives a fatal error after a while.

the AI is pretty cool. Ty again BMP.
Looking forward to the next revisions.

PS: Hope u get the -dm mode fixed.

*sigh* Looks like I was wrong thinking it stopped affecting me. Just had a game where my fps was less than 1 at some point (32nd minute). I was surprised the game recovered and I was able to finish it.

Looking at game modes used by other people and heroes picked, I guess they're irrelevant, as they vary greatly. I've only managed to find one similarity among frame rate drops; they seem to occur mainly during team battles, for my games at least.

-SP and -Repick indeed are buggy. New content seem to work correctly ( all new skills / items ). As for lags, I didn't experience any until 50 min mark, then game slowly started to lag, but didn't crash, maybe I was too lucky, I'll try few games later.

Now I too experienced some wierd freezes but with DM mode during Team Battles and a 10 sec hang during the gank, seems like there is a problem with modes, but I can't say anything exactly, should test the map few more times. Also DM only or DMAP doesn't work, although AI can get new hero randomly on these modes.

i've just finished a 5v5 and only gets fps drops... no freeze anymore...

But before that i've experienced something weird...

when i start the game... -nestmcngfr (for exemple) doesn't work
then i restart
-ne work
-nest work
-nestmc k
-nestmcng k
-nestmcngfr work.... wtf ? it wasn't working a few sec ago...

most of times gamesmode doesn't work (i mean i can type everything i want it won't work... then if i restart the game sometimes it work, sometimes not disgusted.gif ) huh.gif

Ah, the tavern thing again. I guess the team's taverns are disabled after a hero is randomed/picked for the first time.

I used -om -wtf vs Zeus. tongue.gif No, game won't crash because of Magic Stick going over the cap. If I have to point my finger at something, it's the team battle you mentioned in your post.

I'm getting a weird bug: I've done 3 games with this AI so far and in each of them my screen freezes randomly between 24 ~ 29 min and I'm forced to restart my comp. I can't even alt + tab or get out of warcraft when this happens. Did this happen to anyone else ? Or does anyone know how to fix it ?

Magic stick doesn't cause any problem ( tested ). This is what I found :

AI constantly switches Power Treads from one attribute to another when there's enemy hero nearby wich ofcourse produces some spikes and lags in team battles ( especially if more than 2 heroes wear PT ).

I notice that too. Why should the AI do that? Constantly switches Power Treads will not help them anything closedeyes.gif

Sliche, I think you just found what is causing the frame rate drop. I tried playing a 5vs5 -om -lvlupall -goldall max and used -pa/-pe to pick heroes that make Treads.

A huge frame rate drop occurred as soon as the teams started fighting and I noticed the same thing as what your post describes.

against bane elemental, faceless void and harbinger

the game crashed when aleria was killed by a tower, i was changing line and others were fighting on the top line.

My guess is the death of Aleria is part of the problem (perhaps the fact he's been killed by a tower ^^ )

My team: Proodmore(Me), Potm(AI), Crystal Maiden(AI)
Opponent team: OD(AI), Anti-mage(AI), Pit Lord(AI)

After using a few times of x-mark+torrent combo, at around 20mins maybe? I used the combo and attack kill OD. After that I go to jungle use torrent. After a few seconds the game crashed

Actually, after few test games I've noticed that AI mainly switches PT in 2 situations :

If it is low on hp and is about to die.

AI is about to kill enemy.

Both situation cause the game to spike or even lag if many heroes do this at the same time.

Mainly, switching PT helps if you are low on health or need some mana ( + 10 str / + 10 int ), the problem is AI keeps switching untill it dies or leaves the combat, if AI dies with Int / Agg / Str PT, it will respawn with the same PT's attribute, which sometimes is stupid ( like Drow with Int PTs or Obsidian with Agg one ).

What was the game mode?

@ Others : Next time, try to tell us when exactly the game crashed because most crashes seem to have no reason. If you got one, don't report it, try to play another game. Remember, just telling us that your game crashed wont help at all. Also check your Logs folder in your WC3 directory and try to watch the replay by yourself, perhaps then you'll find something usefull to tell us.

The same as I said before, what was the game mode? E.x , I experience some lags with -DM mode, on -Ar, -Ap, -Sp, -Tr modes game doesn't lag or crash. I also tested Aleria AI and the game didn't crash when she died ( she died more than 5 times in a row ( 2 times to tower, 1 - AI scored a frag, and 2 times to enemy heroes ) ), thats why I don't think she can cause any problem.

I also tested Aleria AI and the game didn't crash when she died ( she died more than 5 times in a row ( 2 times to tower, 1 - AI scored a frag, and 2 times to enemy heroes ) ), thats why I don't think she can cause any problem.

I was playing Windrunner in an apnengnn game.
Windrunner, Obsidian Destroyer, Lone Druid, Venomancer, Sacred Warrior vs Chaos Knight, Bane Elemental, Stone Giant, Sniper, Dark Seer.
It crashed when I clicked on Tiny to kill him/it.

Exception: 0xC0000005 (ACCESS_VIOLATION) at 001B:6F3FC110
The instruction at '0x6F3FC110' referenced memory at '0x0000003C'.
The memory could not be 'read'.

Edit : Checked my past replay, I had Assault in the inventory and thats why I thought he had no bonus armor, he simply didn't have a -armor value on him ( just 3 Basic armor ).

1- dont know if its a bug or something new but the ai keep switching with power treads.
2-in the beginning, after buying items and consumables ai has 5 charges of tango ? wtf ? shouldn't be 6 ?

That's what I've been looking for. THANK YOU.

The Power Treads ability was changed in 6.55 so as to not interrupt orders, which means it's no longer based off of the Channel ability. I haven't really looked at it closely, but my guess is that it's based off of an item heal ability or mana restoration ability, and since the default WC3 AI will attempt to use this ability whenever possible (essentially always, since it has no cooldown), it will cause them to repeatedly use this over and over and over again.

This is also why the AI never uses Shiva's Guard and will randomly use Bottle; the Shiva's Guard ability is based off of the Channel ability, which the default WC3 AI will never use, and the Bottle ability is an item heal, which the default WC3 AI will always use.

I should be able to disable the Power Treads ability for computer players (hopefully). I'll try it when I get home from work.

AFAIK you should be good at Jass ( or expert at the certain part of it ) and have a basic knowledge of Dota code system ). Maybe someone else will tell you more about this.

1. Reported before.

2. Didn't experience yet, I'll check this one. Edit : Indeed AI gets 5 tangos instead of 6. I suggest that AI tango script wasn't changed ( AI still gets +2 Tangos like it did in past versions and then also gets +3 tangos like it should ). Its not serious , but still should be fixed easely.

I'm not going to lie, I was kind of hoping for the cosmetics of the newer RD but I can understand time constrains for keeping the old cosmetics. A lot of the picking errors arise from the fact that the Circle of Power for player is no longer near the Taverns, and that everything in the bases has been moved.

I'll have to modify the routine for -repick the same way I did for -pe so that it works, which should be more or less a straightforward fix.

I haven't touched -RD at all, but if I had to guess I'd say that the draft traverns are probably placed in a fairly odd position and you'll be unable to pick from them. I'll check that when I get home.

The primary reason I haven't updated RD is because of the AI scripting required to work around it. It's not just a cosmetic fix (almost nothing ever is), and to drive an AI routine that properly waits and selects around the new look and feel of RD would take a lot of extra work for something I believe has little overall gain. If I ever get really bored and find myself with an inordinately large amount of time, maybe I'll do something about it then, but in the near future, I wouldn't count on it. =/

People with -DM problems...what kind of problems are you getting aside from the framerate one? I managed to complete and play several -ardm games during the beta phase, so I can't tell what's going on. =/

Now unfortunately I have a very odd bug to report.

The teams were:

Everything was running smoothly. Then during a team battle, Obsidian Destroyer used Astral Imprisonment on Sniper. However, when Sniper came out of it, he was completely invisible (had no sprite at all!) yet still attacked (he had desolator, it was the only reason I knew he was attacking). It didn't really bother me, I tried using the -aiunstuck command but to no avail. He stayed invisible the entire game. Computers were able to attack him but he just...wasn't there.

I doubt that's too helpful. Sorry. sad.gif

Anyway, I just found a bug, but it's about a fun tavern hero, so it's quite minor at the moment. When Old Mercurial uses Reality, she does a level 1 Ghost Walk. Looks like some spell IDs have changed from 6.54b to 6.56.

IMO, this is more than just a port... you, BuffMePlz, improved a lot of aspects of the AI that wouldnt work with just "porting". You should give yourself more credit on it since most people here knows it more than a port.

im totally guessing here, but cant you make the AI start working after the picking phase ended? just let their time end and get a random hero

He was actually invisible, he was not targetable nor did he have an HP bar.

I should have also mentioned the spell animation for Astral Imprisonment stayed in the spot where Sniper was imprisoned for the rest of the game. (the green ball thing) Quite weird. Again, not game breaking or anything but just extremely odd.

On a related note, he went 12-0 tongue.gif.

Edit: I actually have the replay! It happens at minute 40/41. Sniper is TP'ing back to base when OD catches up to him and Astral Imprisonment's him.

No, those log files are completely useless because I can't read machine error codes and knowing the memory address at which WC3 throws an exception does nothing for me.

Please stop posting them.

As for -st, I don't know why you can't combine it, I haven't actually touched that mechanism. If someone can isolate the problem I might be able to do something about it.

I've disabled the Power Treads ability for AIs, I'll do some test runs and see if it actually fixes the problem.

i something crashed ur game try to play one more game with same modes,ai and see if u might be able to pin point the problem.

The only problem I get is being unable to choose a hero ( Tavern Bug ). I played -ArDm games and didn't notice anything strange.

@ Others : Logs indeed are useless because they don't tell anything but specific machine codes and basic game info which ofcourse doesn't help to detect the reason of the crash. Those, who got the game crash were probably unlucky, because I tested frequently used modes ( including -ne, -ng, mc ) and my game didn't crash at all, even when I had a 2 min freezes at 55 - 60 min mark and ~30 sec freeze during the team battles. I can't say I was lucky because I played more than 15 times in a row and yet didn't have a sole crash. For those, who experience the constant game crashes, try to play a game without a sound ( in my opinion the main reason of game crashes ) , perhaps then your game wont crash anymore.

This is one of those ''weird'' animation bugs which happen once in a 100 game. I'm quite sure you won't be able to replicate it unless you are very very lucky. My suggestion here, ignore it now, if this will happen again, simply save the replay and try to reupload it. closedeyes.gif

And just tested once tongue.gif and i notice one thing that when my hero BKB mode, and the enemy AI using terror blade low in HP.

He casted sunder on me when I am sure that my BKB still on, the next thing happened, his HP recovered but my HP still the same.

I believe that it's because of i'm stilll in BKB and sunder was treated as magic damage, that's why my HP still the same. But in reality casting sunder on BKB user is cannot be done, maybe because of the trigger/dummy unit.

Confirmed! Picks not possible.

Two games in -apnn 4 vs 4 mode.
Kunkka(me), Windrunner(friend), rest dont remember.
Both times crit error with war3.exe - access violation (first game at min 20, seems to have no reason; 2nd game after 40 min, game crashed after using Shackleshot on fleeing PotM).

I try to confirm this afternoon and get a more exact description of this error.

This is perfectly normal. Sunder is an Ultimate, and allows passing through with BKB. Although because of BKB, nothing happens to your HP, but he still gets yours.

It can be done, since Sunder is an Ulti, and hence goes through Magic Immunity. The damage doesn't, so only Terrorblade's Hp was affected.

Hi, I played a 3 on 3 -apneng -fun -test just yesterday. When my hero died in one skirmish, I clicked on Barathrum to see his item build and I noticed something peculiar with his Power Treads. It kept changing colors. That's when I realized the stats kept changing whenever he attacks. I then started to look at what each type of threads exactly does to a hero, and was able to confirm that the stats changed from Agi to Int to Str type of Threads according to what is shown in the Item display.

Is that normal, or is it a bug?

Well i tried a lot with mode -apnengnnsp and i can pick heroes in both sides, everytime never had bugs with that, -dm works aswell here, maybe i'm too lucky i didn't have so many bugs, the only fatal errors i have is for example when i finish a game then exit warcraft, then launching again warcraft, there i have fatal errors but not in game, wierd.

As NNCCMMLL said, this is normal. Ultimates can target magic immune units. And just to clarify, Sunder does not damage. It's a direct HP removal/addition, depending on how you use it. Don't expect to cast Orchid on someone, Sunder him from full HP to 23% and expect Orchid to deal imba extra damage.

Don't you read the changelog carefully? Spirit Form doesn't work for new Ezalor. I believe that at least we can teach the AI learn and use this skill, just use the same way that Terrorblade use Metamorphosis, at least we could improve the Illuminate casting.

the first time I played this version was -apneng 5vs5.
Kunkka(me), Windrunner(friend), rest dont remember.
then crit error with war3.exe - access violation at the moment of the "critica errorl" there wasn't any Fight. I hope you resolve this kind of errors with the two new heros as soon as posible.. thanks

Faced some bug with Luna and Aghanim's Scepter. I bought Aghanim for Luna, then sold it later. To my surprise, Aghanim's Ulti boost and the 'spikes' remained on Luna until two ulti or so later. I have the replay. Will test if this bug occurs on other heroes with Aghanim upgrade tomorrow.

I've been having quite a bit of trouble with it, though. Probably it's because mine's an old machine, but this map tends to cumulatively-lag even when playing by myself with the AI, to the point that the entire PC hangs (somehow, somewhy, the BGM continues playing smoothly). It happened for nearly all of the games I've played.

The rest of the instances, I was trying out the Windrunner hero. Not sure what's wrong, using all of the skills doesn't seem to cause errors at the start (they work fine, too), but later in the game, for no apparent reason (in one instance, I was in the middle of moving to another location), the game crashes and sends me back to the OS with an error message. It's happened for all of the times I've played as this hero, so, maybe there's something wrong with it?

well guys after whole day of playing i didnt find any noticeable bug at all,

i tried -ap, -ar, -ar-dm and one match with normal as primary mode.
then sometimes i added secondary modes like, ne,ng,st,mc with random combition and belive me i was amazined to see -ar-dm-ne-ng was working way better then it was used to be.
bcz of my slow pc when and AI died and randomed to a new hero the pc gets very slow and some time in late game it got slow too much.
now its hardly 1 or 2 second gap and everything is again normal.
i also tried new heroes like admiral but not even a single crash or anything in about 8 or 9 games!!!

also no framerate problem, i checkd only a few times but ai was not changing the threads constantly in -ar-dm...
it was bonefletcher and he jst spawned and come out and i chked and he wasnt.
so may be some other heroes do such thing



i was playing revison 1 and its jst great good work bmp i must say.
one thing phase and mom has some sort of problem. if u first phase and then activate mom, phase is gone
but if mom is already on, and then u click phase everything is normal both r there.


after reading all posts i think alleria is causing probs, and as a whole there r very little bugs.

I can agree with you totally, played almost the whole day, tested almost all modes, no crash for me, not even framerate problem, few bugs in game but not one single crash, maybe good computer with high specs who knows.

Confirmed. When Scepter is sold, the ultimate boost does not go away. Only tested it on some heroes, but I guess it's same for all.

Eh, I think Phase is supposed to work like that. I'm about 90% sure it even says on the tooltip that casting spells will remove the Phase buff. Phase is basically a Wind Walk spell with a fade time that's longer than the duration, so you don't turn invisible and you can pass through units. Because of this, taking an action during Phase should remove the ability, so using MoM after using Phase should indeed remove the Phase buff.

I think you're right. Here's an experiment if you guys want to try; play using her and NOT learning one of her abilities each time (so four times total, each time you learn only three abilities). So far I've fixed the Power Treads issue, picking after the first pick (-repick or -dm), and Reality on Avatar of Vengeance. Still have to get to -rd, this Scepter bug, and figure out why Windrunner seems to crash the game all the time. =/

First up, thanks for the new AI Map. Love it.


I've had 3 instances of crashes/freeze so far.


First one was in -dmar, after about 30 minutes it got really choppy (frame rate) and I exited out of that game as it started to get worse- Sometimes it would happen when the AI was randoming the next hero after they had died.



Second I was playing as omni-knight in an -ar game crashed- after obtaining my blink dagger, right after one of my blinks(I'd had done multiple before this specific one) the game frame rate dropped and just froze - I was at bottom lane scourges base tower. (I was playing with a meepo who does get treads - does the main meepo switching tread type, make the clones switch as well?)

Last game I was playing an -ap with Alleria, after about 35-40 mins, I was pushing top tower and the game crashed in a result of a "fatal error"(Maybe a result not to win as Alleria? tongue.gif ). These were all on tuesday night(being aussie- so it would of been monday (U.S) morning)

However, I played a game on the wednesday(tuesday U.S Time) with alleria, had no problems occur at all - Lost the game at about the 50 minute mark.


Would also like to point out, you've obviously updated the Ai in some way ( correct me if I'm wrong), they seem to play alot more offensive. The last game mentioned above when I was alleria, was solo harrasing 3 enemy heros with Power Shot as they pushed mid, my team mate spectre suicide runs into them(I being the only ally within distance to help her), manages to kill 2 of them and runs back to fountain, yet still managed to lose in the end sad.gif. - Damn you blink centaur!

But I played a game against Faceless Void and it seems that stick worked when his bash skill is activate too ? So is it normal, bashing considering to be a spell ? tongue.gif

Are you playing on a Mac? I've found that using OSX causes some connection problems - me and a buddy tried two computers using OSX-OSX, OSX-Win, Win-OSX, and Win-Win. As long as one of the computers is running OSX it seems to cause connection problems. Don't have a fix for that, unfortunately. That's a WC3 issue. =/

Yeah, for sure it looks like the Power Treads problem (which I've addressed for the next revision) and Windrunner (which I still need to figure out). And yes, changing Treads on the main Meepo should change them on the other Meepos.

Consider yourself corrected. I haven't touched it. =P Though some AI bots tend to play very aggressively (Spectre, PA), since they play as if they were loaded. And generally after a long game, they do get loaded, and playing aggressively gets them lots of kills really quick.

I don't think Bash should add charges. My guess is you're seeing the same bug with Power Treads, as the switching spell is now based on Fan of Knives. The AI will probably try to use it (thinking it does damage and all that), and since it has no cooldown and counts as a spell, you'll get a bunch of charges from that.

I could be wrong about Bash. I've never really bothered to figure out how that works. =P

Get your bug reports in. I'll have Rev. 2 out by the weekend with bugfixes.

well I saw Harbinger skill working on FacelessVoid Too when he was doing nothing else but bashing... so that's why I thought Bash might be seen as some sort of spell biggrin.gif game crashes and I don't have the replay but i'm pretty sure I saw it closedeyes.gif It might be funny considering he isn't using any mana but the "bubble-like" skill of harbinger is working laugh.gif
Since It's already late in France, I'm gonna test it tomorrow and see if it was a bug or just my imagination ^^

About Faceless Void, he gets PT's and whenever he switches it to another attribute he gets his mana restored from Obsidian's 3rd skill. You may also notice that during the switch Obsidian himself ( he too gets Int PTs ) has almost 100% chance to trigger his aura and get his mana completely restored, so switching PT at the presence of Obsidian gives you a chance to get some free mana. I'm not sure if it is bug, but I personally didn't experience anything like this in normal Dota.

Agreed, I played using Windrunner 1v1 (Windrunner v Akasha). In the middle game, about level 15 or 16 the game crashed. Also before crashed, the Windrunner IAS's greatly decreased. I don't know why. ohmy.gif

Weirdly enough, I can't enter in more than 4 game modes it seems. It won't register.

Found two bugs.
1.I was in Sentinel, mode was -test, -apneng. I typed -random then got Windrunner. But after I typed -repick, I found that all heroes in taverns of Sentinel side are unpickable -- I could saw heroes' icons in taverns, but they were gray.
PS: Heroes' icons in taverns of Scourge side were no problem.
2.Broodmother's Incapacitating Bite effect only works when you target an enemy or attack ground manually. If there is an enemy is Broodmother's sight and she goes to attack it automatically, Incapacitating Bite will not work.

By that definition, Venomancer's Poison Sting should be considered a spell too, but it's clearly not one. Try single player, use -noherolimit, pick Void and Obsidian, go nuts with neutrals, you'll never see Essence Aura triggering because of Timelock.

As for the above Incapacitating Bite "bug", it's just a feature of Orb of Slow based skills. Those are Maim, Chain Lightning proc, Incapacitating Bite and Geminate Attack.

The only problem for me is Admiral Proudmore...
It clash the game randomly and I don't even know what clashes it...
So sorry, I can't make a strong point of what clashing the game,

i guess some of you found this new map's ai quite aggresive when u are playing at sentinel.
In the last few ai maps, the scourge ai will go quite crazy and stay at their base and protect when their last tower (3rd tower) is hit. However, in this new map, the ai will just suddenly push and will not stay at their base for a long time unlike the old map (ai will stay for 10/20 min?). In my opinion, the ai aren't getting aggressive but they start behaving like a normal player at last.

dont know but my -dm-ar is workiing like it never was, no systems slows nothing and my pc has got lower then avergage specs.
PT r not gving me any problem either, i chked only a few time but even if they r changing there was no framerate drop in any of my game.
not even in -ar-dm

and u r rite bmp, tht is the way to check wots the problem i will try to figure out today

Again, it's not as easy as it seems. The new -rd runs on a different countdown system, which I'd have to implement in its entirety for just the one mode. After that I'd have to go and integrate the AI triggers so that they'd properly respond to this new timing, and it's just one big headache for what, as I said earlier, seems to be a very minimal gain, especially since this change is almost entirely cosmetic. Functionally, the old -rd mode works the same way as the new one, it's just not as flashy.

It's really low on my priority list. What I can do is move the old Draft Taverns to a place that's not in the middle of the base and that people can actually choose from. Which I will do for Rev. 2.

I'm sorry for being selfish here, but would it be possible if you release rev2 for the tread swap fix first then the other like WR crash in rev3 later on?

WR crash can be avoided by not picking her, but the tread swapping cant be avoid since there's a lot of ai hero using it and no way to tell them not to do that.

No. I tried in both 1.22 in my PC and 1.21 in my laptop but no crash for both blink.gif. I play 4 completed games with Windrunner without any crashes

I think there is a bug that is kinda annoying on old spectre on fun taverns..

sometimes when i am using reality to an enemy... when i teleport... i begun to have a ghost walk debuff on my screen and it affects my ms but i'm not invinsible... for around the ghostwalk duration..

i feel alleria's power shot is causin the error as i've played her 5 times and at some random point wen i trigger power shot the game will crash. sumone pls verify this.

no i played 2 whole games with her completely without error or bug.

Bash is not a spell. As Overflow said, passive skills ( any type of crit, bash, slow, evasion and so on ) doesn't trigger the essence aura, only active spells do.

Hmm... I don't get a crash... but... A GREAT HANG!!!

I played two times, me with 3 easy vs 4 insane

First I played with windrunner and 2nd with new enchantress and both get hanged at about 40 minutes

With the help of ctrl+alt+tab, I was able to close it

If you think it's my computer's problem, see the specification of ASUS M50SV... Definitely not...

I'm amazed at the two groups of people reporting on Windrunner; one of them says they complete their games successfully (me included) and the other one says she crashes the game. blink.gif

Well, to those that do experience crashes with her, I remember that BMP had a crash with her during the beta related to Shackleshot used on a unit going invisible. Does that ring any bells to anybody? It could be a place to start.

I've been playing with Aleria on normal map (without AI) and no crashes at all... crashes happened only with AI map (for me...) it's a little bit odd laugh.gif

im raged because i had too consecutive crashes:
1- juggernaut (me), ogre magi, abaddon vs tinker, spectre, tiny, magnus forgot who game crashed before 10min (all are ai bots)
2- dragon knight (me), slardar, tree vs leoric, puck, medusa, ursa and doom it was between 30-40 min (all are ai bots)

Because the damage is being done by a dummy unit, not Axe himself. wink.gif And you are probably referring to Blade Mail.

Well, I still don't know what's going on with Windrunner, and until somebody can isolate the reason why she's crashing your game, I can't fix it. She works fine on my machine, so I can't fix something I can't see.

Anyway, seems like a lot of people are having this framerate problem, I'll put Rev. 2 up when I get home tonight because I'm sick of seeing the same bugs over and over again. Honestly, people can't bother to read the thread before posting?

And for the last time, saying "OH NOES MY GAME CRASHED" is NOT HELPFUL. Crashes are inherently deterministic, and result as a consequence of ACTIONS TAKEN DURING THE GAME. Simply saying "I was using X, he was using Y, AI was using Z, GAME CRASHED FIX NAO" is not going to help anybody, it's just going to clutter this thread with useless bug reports that we'll have to sort through later.

Again: be specific. What were you doing? What was the AI doing? And please, for the love of God and all that is holy, MAKE SURE YOU CAN REPRODUCE THE BUG BEFORE POSTING IT. The faster you figure out what's wrong, the faster I can fix it. Didnt learn powershot. The game crashed on normal attack. At the time, spiritbreaker was doing his ult on lycanthropy in human form, lycan was using a healing salve. I was normal attacking the wolf. The increase speed move of windrunner buff was not activated at the time of crash.

Windrunner 4 crashes out of 4 tries now.

I experienced weird lag problems. I played void and my teammates are clinkz and meepo. enemies were destroyer, huskar and slardar.

around 19 mins into the game. I started to lag badly(so bad I can't even target well). I dunno why because no spells were cast save I think the inner vitality huskar casted but even after the effect was gone it still lagged.

my comp specs are ok, don't worry about that.

Let me clarify something; what was going on during the crash hardly matters. For example, assuming Shackleshot is the cause, you might fire a Shackleshot on the 2nd minute, do nothing for the rest of the game and see it crashing on the 60th minute because of that previous Shackleshot.

A 58 minute interval is very unlikely, but that was just an example.

I was just playing a game with windrunner in which I didin´t level power shot and the game crashed.

right before the crash I use the ulty on the base towers, when venomancer showed up and unleash his combo on me. so i activated winrunner and proceeded to escape. It´s noteworthy that an ailed purist was nearby and that i was low on health.

It might be that the bug is on windrunner (the skill) and it interaction with buff, or maybe purist repelled me which ended it abruptly and cause an error.

I hope I was of help and thanks for the map.

After working late today, I don't feel like doing too much on the map, so you're just gonna get what I have. =P The main issue seems to be with Power Treads anyway, so let's see if we still have that problem.

Haven't fixed the bug with dropping Aghanim's Scepter yet (seems fairly minor to me), and it looks like the problem with Windrunner is not with Powershot. So I guess we can scratch that one off of the list.

I hope you guys are trying the same thing with the other abilities. (Try not learning Focus Fire, or try not learning Windrunner).

Reduced the map size too, I had a faulty compression in Rev. 1. Whee!

Im having the same problems as a few of the others. This version is eating up memory and causes unplayable lag. Me and my brother couldnt even play 30 minutes into a game before it was too unbearable. Id also like to take this moment to thank you for the speedy release of this ai. Me and my brother play your ai maps alot and we highly enjoy them. We even prefer them over playing on battle.net. this happened in the older virsions too: All AIs start with too much money in a 5v5 battle (around 1200)

I also didnt learn SHACKLE SHOT. I went stats, windrunner buff, FOCUS FIRE.

I definitely used focus fire and windrunner buff a couple of times.

I've tested lot of things with windrunner...
First I played using all her skills and game crashed...
Then I haven't learn any skill but stats and game worked well
If learning all skills but using none of them it worked
Using only 2nd, 3rd or 4th skill only worked
4 only work
2 and 3 worked
1st only worked
Using none of them at the beginning but all of them late game doesn't produce crashes at all

I tried using the fourth in a short period (using ulti while 3rd active, AI shackles by the 1st skill focus with the 4th and achieve with the 2) no crash...

Well I tried lots of other things and all worked well

It seems that game crashes occurs :
1 - random
2 - If I use all 4 skills as a normal game... It crashes when I died, or when I was healing back at the foutain, when I was last kill or deny... I can't find anything that make the game crash everytime... disgusted.gif

There's a bug with Rylai. Once she gets her BKB, she simply turns it on once she is ABOUT to enter a battle. And AFTER the BKB turns off, THEN she blinks in to turn on her ulti. can it be fixed...? Thanks!

I guess you missed that in official 6.55 changelogs:

* Kelen's Dagger now only triggers on player controlled damage

So only when you took damage from AI heroes, Kelen's Dagger is disabled. If you were damaged by creeps/towers, Kelen's Dagger still work normally. Kelen's Dagger just work fine in this revision. smile.gif

Luna use Lucean Beam. But she leveling it from level 22 --> 25, later than learning all Attribute Bonus skills. This is the old skill build for her which is made before 6.50 come out - at this time Eclipse's damage is constant, not based on Lucean Beam level, so Luna can take advantage on other build. For exemple, I was near a creep and about to kill enchantress and she had scepter of divinity... then instead of casting on me she casted on the creep and he went flying in the air... like she clicked the wrong target... first of all. thank you for the release. i've been waiting for it. A friend gave me a copy while i thought there might be like 1 or 1 and a 1/2 weeks before the release. i was really surprised. now R2 came out, i am twice as happy biggrin.gif

anyway, i played the map alone and with my friends. it seems like what people on the forum says. windrunner sure is giving some game crash. some times it doesn't. its like random. (like amardeus's said).

i can't give more info, as i wasn't really paying attention that windrunner was the one causing those crashes. i'll play the r2, and see if i could spot some problems on windrunner.

AI doesn't have a mouse or keyboard if this is what you want to know, there's a specific system for AI heroes ( build-in in Game Engine ). As for Eul, they tend to cast it on creeps more than on heroes.

Ok, I founded a little bit strange that when they are trying to flee they always cast eurl or guinso on me and then "instant Teleport" or insane running ... and sometimes creeps near me are flying instead cheesy.gif (what a strange smiley)

Well I may be paranoid.... but bane elemental cast his sleep skill on me (7s without doing anything is really.... you know what i mean...) and then ONLY 1 SEC after I woke up .... Did the skill last for the whole duration?

It was probably interrupted, and you got the debuff back, I guess.

Anyway, without a replay, there isn't much to say (nice rhyme, isn't it?)

yeah it's possible... bane seems to love casting niightmare+Enfeeble+Brain sap and then Fiends grip to finish... so you can't move or made anything but die...

This is a great map, but I have one problem, whenever I suicide a hero as techies it isn't a "suicide" since the hero I kill somehow kills me.

^ That is not an AI bug, it was part of the new assists-count-as-kills introduced in 6.55. I'm pretty damn sure the same happened with Techies' Suicide in non-AI 6.55, I dunno if it got fixed in .b or 6.56.

Well, it seems to be unintended, so yeah I guess BMP could fix it without anyone complaining. tongue.gif

I feel like this has been answered multiple times. Effects from ultimates go through spell immunity, so though you won't take damage from Fiend's Grip, you will still be disabled. Works like this in normal DotA.

After looking through the code, I'm about 95% sure that Focus Fire is what's causing the game to crash with Windrunner. I'll need to rewrite that ability too.

What a pain.

Okay, let me clear your confusion. None of what you reported is a bug, let alone one concerning AI. Nature's Attendants will keep healing until their duration is over, even if Enchantress dies. As BMP told you, all ultimates can target immune units. And finally, Meepo's clones have higher base damage than the original one due to 25% of Meepo's extra Agility transferring directly to the clones' main damage instead of being shown as additional.

My condolences to BMP for apparently having to rewrite another skill. =/

I have a suggestion with regards to the location of the Fun Taverns (Wisps).

Perhaps BMP can move them to the upper left hand corner? Where there is currently a 'hole' perfectly situated for private/secret taverns like this.

That "hole" is there for -rd though and as far as I know BMP plans to fix -rd to reflect the one used in the current map, even if it's a low priority for him. So moving the fun taverns there might make -rd ugly in future.

No, thats probably because of your Windows. Either try to disable your drive E or make sure that drive e is empty.

The revision 2 has a Fatal Error when you use Wind Runner in LAN Game.

3 Players(WindRunner Used) VS 5 AI+

After that Fatal Error, we started again a new game and WindRunner in our team but still Fatal Error it happen 4 times.

Maybe the new hero has a bug, i just want to tell to the maker for the good of the MAP biggrin.gif

A little porblem with the -pe and -pa command. (where you get to select the heroes for the ai.) The problem is this:

mode was -np. I was in the scourge side.
When I was able to choose the heroes for the AI. I couldn't select the taverns for the Sentinel side! I can only pick the heroes for the scourge side. I know it's only a little problem but its a bug. in past versions, this bug was not present. Maybe because of the new mapping system? anyways, this bug is no longer present when you add the -ap mode.

Super fail. The map references nothing outside of Warcraft III, so if Warcraft III is installed on C and it's asking for E, then it's looking for a CD. The map doesn't reference ANY external files aside from the WC3 program directory and the map file.

However, I have found that on some crashes, WC3 gets slightly messed up. Rebooting your computer will fix this. So no, it's not a map bug. It happens when WC3 crashes, which is not map-specific. Thus, the bug lies with WC3 and not the map.

I actually didn't check -pe if the player is on the Scourge side, I'll have to check that. I thought I accounted for it, but I might be wrong.

And please, no more reports about how Windrunner crashes the game. I know she does, and I still need to rewrite Focus Fire. Be patient.

that PT change is triggering essence aura.
and it is a serious bug not only in AI maps but in others as well.

PTs change is not a spell it shoudnt trigger essence aura

Yes, Changing the stat on PT makes it trigger Essence Aura. And this also happens in non-AI versions of DotA.

Nope, warcraft 3 no longer needs CD to play. This means it has nothing to do with Drive E, which is virtual ( especially if it was installed on C ). As I said before, its a Windows's fault or his Alcohol ( or another VCP ) is buggy.

i noticed few times, in early game Ai is ok.
then at level 6 or 7 they change lanes, gank opponents, farm etc.
but in late game i have seen they r pushing usually only in mid-lane.

i forced them to mass push on left but they didnt respond.
then i -od to call for defence and after they reached the base then i mas push on left but stilll they were not responding.
so i -oa them again they pushed only in mid.

if creeps reach our base they fall back clear the creeps and again move to mid lane and keep pushing.


the most nice game of all AI is mid game, but after that they r just pushing on mid both allies and foes, they dont gank much either which is most njoying thing.

and its no way maps fault.

war3 ask for e bcz there must be an installation issue.
and this happens only when game crashes.
may be it wants to report blizzard abt it and needs something from e.
but in reality i dont think warcraft has any such problem.
its specific only to that guy or may be his windows problem.

sometimes in older version of AI maps, yea very rarely they drop it but only in front of their fountain.

n this usually happens when they somehow mess with recipes.
like last time tiny was trying to make assault but somehow he couldnt and his recipe was lying infront of fountain.

thoough i never found any such thing in this map.

i think this was in the changelogs. hero kills that were assisted by a single hero would be given to the hero assister. or something like that.

yea in this version, if there is only one asist the kill is given to that person.

u know the once sentinels (my side) killed a hero, i and sniper assisted him but first blood was given to me dont know why!!!

i was playing QOP may be this is the reason that most damge was inflicted by me.

anybody felt that Ai is pusing only in mid lane during late game?

Zzz i thought there was a changelog about that, see 6.55 Changelog
* When there is only 1 Assist to a Sentinel or Scourge kill, the kill is
instead given to that hero. When there are multiple assists to a Sentinel or
Scourge kill, the gold is split amongst those assisters rather than the
entire team
* Changed First Blood to be given to the Assist players when creeps kill the
hero rather than giving it to Sentinel or Scourge and splitting

Not sure if this is a bug or not.

When there's 4 vs 5, (so far tested either 4pl vs 5ai, or 1pl+3ai vs 5ai), dash commands (-ap -ne -ng, etc.) will not proc if there are more than 5 dash commands. Tried 6 it won't work, tried 5 and it works.

Then, I changed players to 4 vs 4, then i can use up to 6 dash commands, 7 will not work.

Plz confirm if this is a bug, or why there's a limitation to this.

E: is just a first cdrom in system.
I think i see this dialog just because drive e: become empty. Some temp image was needed then deleted.
It is not windows/alcohol fault. It was war3.exe, who look to e:.
Time to choo-oo-oose... but what to choose?
1. I forgot where those disk.
2. There are other disks to look.
3. Nothing in war3 points to e: (i think)

You mean AI commands? Well, sometimes AI simply refuses to obey and you have to order the same command few times. As for gamemodes you listed ( yes, -ap, -ne and so on ) you should type them before 0 : 13 mark. Type them together ( -apneng ), remeber, -ap doesn't work with random modes ( - ar , -tr ). Some game modes may not work together.

It is not windows/alcohol fault. It was war3.exe, who look to e:.
Time to choo-oo-oose... but what to choose?
1. I forgot where those disk.
2. There are other disks to look.
3. Nothing in war3 points to e: (i think)
I just insert any image to e: to let it look. smile.gif



I suggest #3, its the best way to fix your problem. Just don't instal the game into the same directory.
Edit here's a trick :

If you use CD / Image of the game, copy all files from it into your Disk C ( make a folder and name it ). Then remove CD / Image and install the game from folder, perhaps then WC3 won't check for drive E anymore.

well not exactly a report but i found only level 3 focus fire give crashes.
i delibratly played two games with only having focus fire and nothing happened until level 3 focus fire.

so BMP i think u need to fix only level 3 focus fire, i think..
yea and first time mode was -ar-ne-ng-st-mc and then -ap-ne-ng both crashed at levl 3

anybody confirms issues with roshan? sometimes he gets stronger and sometime he dosent even if he had a level 10 buff.

i think it was discussed earlier but why is this that sometimes he gets the buff and sometimes dosent

Make sure you didn't have assault cuirass in your inventory, because it removes +5 armor bonus which Roshan has ( from LvL 10 buff ).

bug found, ai phantom lancer drop his vit. booster for manta. actually he didn't drop it he buy it without empty slot so it was drop on the floor (i guess)

another thing, is ai ezalor broken?, is he actually use mana leak? (see the replay)
and at the end of the game ezalor is at lvl17 he must have at least lvl2 att. bonus but his stats attributes came only from his items


another one on infest, after using infest once you inside the creep and click n'aix portrait you will be locked camera to the creep you enter with right?, but what happened your screen will move to the fun tavern corner and with line of sight to the fun tavern without putting -fun (kinda weird), then if you press infest again to come out the creep the line of sight gone.



P.S. this still rev.1 cause i only download rev.2 after tihs post and don't know if they stiil on r2.


just tested, the infest still on rev.2

You're correct. AI Ezalor doesn't use the new Mana Leak and learn Attribute Bonus.

Confirmed that too. When you use Infest on a creep, a consume Nai'x unit is created in the deep forest of fun tavern corner (That also happened in non-AI 6.56) and activated Fun Tavern. It seems to be unfortunate exploit in game tongue.gif.

Found some bugs with Old Invoker:

- Invoke Betrayal not work. The effect on the head of the targeted unit seems to be last forever (until that unit die)

yea yesterday veno also dropped 2 3 times his stuff!!
Ai is supposed to get items directly, they dont need to purchase items separatly and then complete recpie,

usually items with bossters have problem, ring of health was also dropped once,

but its fun to destroy their items buahuahuah

just a question,
roshan has two attacks, is one for land units and other for air?
but all heroes are land units...

There are some air units summoned by heroes ( hawk, revenants ), so Roshan deals extra damage to them.

Ezalor seems to cause huge lags for me... most of time when I use his ulti and when he return back to his 1st form... I had huge drop of FPS just right after these...
Played 2 games, and 2 times it happened... with and without game modes... perhaps my computer is a little bit outdated...
